Clinical Director 

We are looking for a Clinical Director to support with delivery of our Urgent, Emergency and Primary Care services. DHU is an exciting place to work, fast paced and no day is ever the same. You will be an experienced clinician, have a can-do attitude, be self-reflective, and a team player.

Our geographical footprint covers the North Region (Derbyshire, East Staffordshire and South Yorkshire) and the South Region (Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland, and Milton Keynes). We cover a range of services including clinical assessment services, home visiting, primary care centres, urgent treatment centres, GP surgeries, CMDU, mobile vaccination, virtual wards, community nursing, phlebotomy, enhanced access, and clinical support to a children’s hospice.

As a member of our diverse, multi-disciplinary team, you will report to our Regional Clinical Director and work closely with our Managing Director, Heads of Clinical Services and Deputy Directors, in defining and implementing DHU’s vision and strategy by translating that strategy into clinical operational planning and implementation.

Your role will see you:

· Setting the behaviours, values, and culture for effective cross functional working, with direct leadership of clinical service delivery across the region.

· Developing internal and external patient pathways and SOPs in line with organisational/commissioner requirements, DHU performance and contractual requirements.

· Supporting the Regional Clinical Director, Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team, including the service development team, in securing the organic growth of UEC and Primary Care by expanding services that are provided across DHU, including the design, development and mobilisation or transformation of innovative new services that are commercially viable for commissioning by the NHS.

· Monitoring expenditure against budgets to ensure the achievement of financial targets in line with the clinical workforce, taking appropriate action to resolve any budgetary issues and submit appropriate options proposals for executive review / authorisation.

· Line management of senior clinicians and as a key leader, consistently demonstrating DHU’s values and behaviours.

We will need you to demonstrate the following essential criteria:

· Experience of managing and delivering high quality services within a healthcare setting.

· Evidence of successful working across whole organisational teams.

· MRCGP, valid registration with the GMC / license to practice. Relevant experience as a senior GP.

· Professional / Clinical qualification desirable with evidence of ongoing professional development.

· Proficient in MS applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, databases.

· Previous experience of working with staff in a high-pressured service environment
