Location: Daventry, Danetre Hospital, NN11 4DY
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours 
Salary: Band 6.0, £38,383 per annum

With us, continuity, insight and compassion make the difference. As Deputy Operations Manager, you’ll support the Operations Manager in leading our urgent care services across Northampton.

You’ll bring your understanding of DHU systems, pathways and values to help ensure services remain safe, responsive and high performing. This role plays a key part in supporting our teams on the ground and ensuring patients receive timely, high-quality care across the Northampton footprint.

This is an ideal opportunity for an internal candidate with strong operational experience who is ready to broaden their leadership impact, take on greater responsibility and further develop their management skills.

With us, you will:

  • Provide visible operational leadership across UEC services, supporting teams during in-hours and out-of-hours periods
  • Support the Operations Manager in the day-to-day delivery of services, ensuring contractual, quality and performance standards are met
  • Line manage and develop non-clinical colleagues, promoting a positive, inclusive and accountable team culture
  • Oversee rota management, staffing allocation and workforce planning, using your DHU knowledge to balance service need and efficiency
  • Support recruitment, appraisals, performance management and staff development within the operational teams
  • Monitor performance, identify risks or service pressures, and take action to support continuous improvement
  • Work collaboratively with clinicians, managers and corporate teams to deliver DHU-wide objectives
  • Represent services at internal and external meetings when required
  • Participate in the on-call / duty manager rota, providing senior operational support across a 24/7 service
