As a Digital Project Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of multiple digital and organisational projects across the Trust/organisation. You will be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering projects from initial business case through to implementation and value realisation collaborating with senior stakeholders, including executive teams, and play a key role in driving change, governance and best practice across the organisation


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with organisational and digital strategy

  • Manage the full project lifecycle, from business case development to project closure and benefits realisation

  • Develop and maintain key project documentation, including:

    • Business cases

    • Project Initiation Documents (PIDs)

    • Project plans, mobilisation plans, and timelines

    • Risk, issue, and action logs

    • Communication and engagement plans

  • Define and manage project scope, milestones, dependencies, resources, and deliverables

  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and performance, ensuring effective financial and benefits tracking

  • Implement and maintain robust governance and change control processes

  • Identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues appropriately

  • Provide clear and concise reporting to Project Boards, Programme Boards, and Executive stakeholders

  • Facilitate and chair project meetings, workshops, and stakeholder sessions

  • Build strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams and departments

  • Support portfolio management activities, ensuring all projects are accurately tracked and prioritised

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and embedding best practice

  • Support contract mobilisation and bid activity where required

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to project team members and administrative staff


To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Essential:
    • Degree in IT, business, or equivalent experience

    • PRINCE2 Practitioner (or equivalent project management methodology experience)

    • Evidence of continuing professional development

    • Extensive experience in project/programme management

    • Proven track record of delivering complex projects (preferably digital or healthcare)

    • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

    • Experience in budget management and financial reporting

    • Experience leading teams and working in matrix environments

    • Experience producing and managing full project lifecycle documentation
