Location based at either Derby, Oldbury, or Leicestershire 
37.5 hours per week
£25,146 per annum, pro-rata

About the role
The post-holder will play a crucial role in driving DHU’s commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion (ED&I) within our organisation. The post-holder will be an advocate for an environment where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents. By championing diversity and implementing inclusive initiatives, you will play a vital role in creating a workplace where all employees thrive and succeed.

Responsibilities: 
  • Support the strategic ED&I Leads in the development and implementation of DHU Healthcare's People strategy, with specific reference to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
  • Collaborate with departmental heads and People & Culture team to assess current ED&I practices and identify areas for improvement.
  • Serve as a resource and point of contact for employees seeking guidance or support related to ED&I matters.
  • Contribute to the creation of inclusive policies, procedures, and practices that promote diversity and inclusivity within the workplace.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of Employee Support groups focused on various aspects of diversity and inclusion.
  • Coordinates representatives from Employee Support groups to attend overarching ED&I Steering Committee.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and execute communication strategies to promote ED&I initiatives and raise awareness among employees.
  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in ED&I and recommend innovative approaches to advance DHU Healthcare's ED&I goals.
  • Assist in preparing reports and presentations on ED&I metrics, progress, and outcomes for senior leadership and other stakeholders (including W-RES and W-DES).
  • Act as a liaison between employees, management, and external partners to foster collaboration and alignment with DHU Healthcare's ED&I objectives.
  • Assist in conducting audits and assessments to measure the effectiveness of ED&I initiatives and programs.
  • Coordinate and facilitate ED&I training sessions, workshops, and events for employees at all levels of the organisation.
  • Where appropriate, taking notes and supporting Leaders to improve the ED&I offering within DHU.
  • Minute taking/cascading; general administration duties as required, with a focus on accuracy and consistency. 
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a timely, professional, and consistent manner. 
  • Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.
 
Essential Skills:
  • Demonstrated understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion principles, with relevant training or certification being advantageous.
  • Strong commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace, coupled with a passion for driving positive organisational change.
  • Proven experience supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Experience of collaborating with teams and stakeholders to implement initiatives.
  • Experience of analysing data and producing accurate reports.
  • Some experience of attending meetings as note taker.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Solid understanding of relevant employment laws and best practices related to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • A good general standard of education, including GCSE Math's & English or equivalent.
  • IT proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Occasional working outside regular hours to support the business.
  • Travel to other sites as required.
