- Lead on and be responsible for processing the requests and enquiries made under the Data a Protection Act & GDPR in line with internal DHU policies & procedures and UK Data Protection legislation.
- Give detailed consideration to complex requests and apply appropriate redactions / exemptions as outlined in the Data Protection Act and DHU policies & procedures, working closely with DHU staff to ensure redactions are appropriate.
- Manage a varied and complex workload, prioritising tasks across multiple information requests and taking decisions on redactions, erasures, restrictions.
- Act as a key point of contact and assist DHU’s Information Governance & Data Protection Team in the collation of cross cutting DPA requests, enquiries or complaints.
- To maintain an awareness of the GDPR and related data protection legislation.
- Liaise with other key members of DHU, to determine appropriate case redactions / exemptions.
- Assist with addressing queries/complaints and respond to the identification of and resolution of data quality issues ensuring that data subject rights are met where possible.
- Ad hoc administrative tasks associated with the role.
- Have an appreciation of data protection/privacy issues and a proactive work ethic to ensure knowledge is always up-to-date.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritise effectively and organise own workload and using own initiative where appropriate.
- Discretion in the handling of sensitive personal data ensuring that information is handled appropriately.
- Excellent ICT skills with good working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Good working knowledge of the GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and associated processes and procedures
- Experience of regulatory compliance within a Healthcare environment.
