Kickstart your career as a Pay and Pensions Assistant with DHU Healthcare!

Are you ready to develop your expertise in payroll and pensions administration? As a Pay and Pensions Assistant at DHU Health Care CIC, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring accurate and timely payroll and pensions processing. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you'll play a vital role in maintaining payroll and pensions integrity within our organisation.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to learn, implement, and execute payroll and pensions processes that directly impact the satisfaction and financial wellbeing of our employees. You'll be empowered to develop your skills and drive efficiency, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective payroll and pensions solutions.

Competitive Salary: £23,615

Ongoing Development: In this role, you will have the option to enroll in an apprenticeship program, working towards a Payroll Administrator Level 3 qualification (subject to eligibility criteria)

What your typical day looks like:
  • Set up and processing of New Starters ensuring all details are recorded in accordance with HMRC requirements.
  • Process employee timesheets/payments and all associated payroll information.
  • Calculate, process and check absence related information including sickness, Maternity, Paternity, Parental and ensure that statutory payments are made in accordance with regulations.
  • Record and report overpayment details in accordance with the required process.
  • Process manual payroll calculations, including full gross to net when required
  • Process and record Attachment of Earnings orders in accordance with Statutory guidelines.
  • Undertake regular audit checks of permanent and temporary data and changes in payroll, raising any discrepancies, unusual features or queries at any point in the payroll process.
  • Dealing with simple payroll queries ensuring payroll information is clearly explained in accordance with DHU customer service levels.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of information at all times

To be a successful Pay and Pensions Assistant Apprentice you’ll need:
  • 5 GCSE’s grade C / 4 or higher (Math's and English essential).
  • Excellent written and verbal Communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of working in a confidential environment.
  • Ability to undertake complex calculations.
  • Ability to manage own workload and priorities.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to work independently and
  • to deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to actively seek and find solutions to problems.
  • Right to work in the UK
