Are you a reliable, adaptable, and friendly Receptionist with a passion for supporting patient care?Buxton Medical Practice are currently seeking a full-time Receptionist to join our dedicated Primary Care team.

What DHU Healthcare Can Offer You:

Location: Buxton Medical Practice, SK17 9BZ
Contract: Part Time  Permanent
Hours: 23.5 hours 

Working Pattern:

  • Monday 8am – 6:30pm
  • Tuesday 2pm – 6:30pm
  • Friday 2pm – 6:30pm

Salary: £23,875 per annum (Band 2)

What Your Typical Day Looks Like:

  • Welcoming and assisting patients in a friendly, professional manner

  • Managing incoming calls and messages, including appointment bookings and home visit requests

  • Using Emis to update and maintain accurate patient records

  • Typing outgoing correspondence and data entry tasks

  • Supporting the team with general reception duties and daily administrative tasks

  • Ensuring the reception and waiting areas are clean, tidy, and ready for colleagues and patients

  • Handling patient enquiries with empathy and discretion

  • Summarising records and managing filing systems effectively

To Be a Successful Administrator/Receptionist, You’ll Need:

Essential:

  • Previous administration experience

  • Good IT literacy, especially with MS Word and Excel

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage priorities and work independently

  • Self-motivated and adaptable to changing service needs

Desirable:

  • Experience in a healthcare or GP practice environment

  • Familiarity with EMIS Web and NHS systems

  • Full valid driving licence and ability to travel to other DHU bases as needed
