Clinical Director (GP) – NHS 111
22.5 – 30 hours per week

At DHU Healthcare, every moment matters. We are now looking for an experienced and credible GP leader to join us as Clinical Director for NHS 111, leading clinical quality, governance and transformation across one of our most critical services.
This is a significant internal opportunity to step into a senior clinical leadership role, shaping how NHS 111 continues to evolve within urgent and emergency care systems.
The role
As Clinical Director, you will act as the senior clinical leader for NHS 111, with delegated authority for clinical governance, quality assurance and patient safety across the service. You will ensure clinical quality, operational delivery and patient experience are fully aligned, driving improvement and innovation across the pathway.
You will:
- Lead the clinical governance framework and assurance processes
- Drive improvement in patient safety, experience and outcomes
- Provide clinical leadership for the Clinical Assessment Service (CAS) and service transformation
- Work closely with operational leaders to align performance, demand and clinical risk
- Represent DHU at system level across ICBs and urgent care partners
About you
You are a qualified GP with full GMC registration and bring:
- Strong senior clinical leadership experience in NHS 111, IUC or urgent care
- Deep understanding of clinical governance, incidents, audit and quality improvement
- Experience working at system level with commissioners and partners
- The ability to balance clinical safety with operational delivery and performance
