Location: Northampton General Hospital, Cliftonville, Northampton, NN1 5BD and Danetre Hospital, London Road, Daventry, NN11 4DY
Working Pattern: Average over 6 weeks = 50.75 hours / 8.46 hours per week
Week 1 – Saturday – Northampton – 1pm – 5:59pm
Sunday – Daventry – 6pm – 11:59pm
Week 2 – Tuesday – Daventry – 7:45am – 12am
Sunday – Daventry – 6pm – 11:59pm
Week 3 – Monday – Northampton – 11pm – 3:29am
Friday – Northampton – 6:15pm – 10:59pm
Saturday – Daventry – 6pm – 11:59pm
Sunday – Daventry – 7:45am – 12:59pm
Week 4 – No shifts
Week 5 – No shifts
Week 6 – Sunday – Northampton – 11pm – 7:59am

Competitive salary: DHU Band 2 - £23,615 per annum (pro rata)

What your typical day looks like:
- To undertake reception duties as required, during the hours of duty, greeting and managing patients in a courteous and appropriate manner.
- To receive and record incoming calls accurately and transferring calls as appropriate to Doctors, Nurses, the Practice Manager and other staff.
- Comfort call patients if DNA
- To receive and record requests for home visits, following the protocol for this.
- To receive patients, dealing with their enquiries and explaining surgery procedures.
- To make new and follow-up appointments and deal efficiently with appointment bookings.
To be a successful Receptionist you’ll need:
- High level of Administration experience
- Previous experience in a health care environment desirable
- Computer experience (e.g. Word/Excel and other packages) as well as email systems and other electronic media
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- IT literacy skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Flexible & adaptable to meet changing needs of service
