Purpose of the Role
The post-holder will lead the creation of supportive and healthy workplace environments that enables employees to thrive personally and professionally, leading to higher job satisfaction, overall wellbeing and retention. By championing wellbeing initiatives, you will play a vital role in creating a culture that promotes the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of our people.
The post holder will participate in promoting and advancing DHU Health Care CIC, our values and out behavioral framework.
Specific duties:
- Providing resources, programmes, and support services to address the physical, mental, and emotional needs of employees. This may include initiatives such as wellness workshops and health screenings.
- Implementing strategies and interventions to help staff manage stress, cope with work-related challenges, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. This can involve promoting stress management techniques, offering mindfulness training, and providing access to relaxation resources.
- Recognising and addressing factors contributing to employee burnout. The Wellbeing Coordinator works to create a supportive work environment that prioritizes staff wellbeing and resilience.
- Encouraging healthy behaviour's among employees, such as regular exercise, healthy eating habits, and preventive healthcare screenings. This may involve organizing fitness challenges, nutrition seminars, and flu shot clinics.
- Facilitating a sense of camaraderie and support among staff members. Strong social connections in the workplace can contribute to overall wellbeing and job satisfaction.
- Supporting employees in their professional growth and career advancement through training opportunities, mentorship programs, and continuing education initiatives to enhance job satisfaction and retention.
- Advocating for organisational policies and practices that prioritise employee wellbeing, such as flexible work arrangements, mental health support, and recognition programmes. The Wellbeing Coordinator serves as a voice for employee concerns and needs within the organisation.
- Collecting feedback through surveys, focus groups, and other means to assess the effectiveness of wellbeing initiatives and identify areas for improvement. Data analysis helps inform future programme planning and resource allocation.
- Providing support and resources to employees experiencing personal or professional crises, such as illness, injury, or workplace conflicts. Prompt intervention can help mitigate the impact of crises on employee wellbeing and job performance.
- Minute taking/cascading; general administration duties as required, with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a timely, professional, and consistent manner.
- Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.
Essential Skills:
- Relevant qualification in appropriate field would be advantageous.
- Mental Health First Aid certificate; stress management or other, also advantageous.
- Strong commitment to promoting wellbeing in the workplace, coupled with a passion for driving positive organisational change.
- A good general standard of education, including GCSE Math’s & English or equivalent.
- Proven experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a role related to employee wellness or similar.
- Experience of collaborating with teams and stakeholders to implement initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Empathy and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of employees, with the ability to provide support and guidance in a non-judgmental manner.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices and interventions related to employee wellness and resilience.
- Able to analyse data, including the ability to track and measure outcomes related to initiatives and producing accurate reports.
- Some experience of attending meetings as note taker.
- IT proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
