Hours: 37.5 per week

About the role:

As a Non-Clinical NHS 111 Pathways Trainer, you will be part of a dedicated training team responsible for delivering Pathways training, call handling development, and ongoing support to our NHS 111 teams. You will also work closely with operational and CQI colleagues to ensure training is aligned with service needs and Pathways licence requirements.

You’ll support new and existing advisors, deliver system and process training, undertake audits and reflective practice, and contribute to training plan development, ensuring our workforce is skilled, supported, and compliant.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality NHS Pathways training to new and existing call advisors
  • Training staff in the use of key systems including Adastra and NICE CXOne
  • Undertaking audits, reflective practice, and feedback sessions to support staff development
  • Contributing to the design, delivery, and evaluation of training plans and resources
  • Maintaining accurate manual and computerised training records
  • Keeping up to date with system and process changes, and supporting communication of updates to the team
  • Supporting the preparation of appraisal documentation and contributing to staff development reviews
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to all relevant protocols and policies
  • Providing cover for other trainers during periods of leave or sickness, including occasional weekends and bank holidays as needed

What we’re looking for:

Essential criteria:

  • 4 GCSEs Grade A–C or equivalent, including English and Maths
  • 2 years’ experience in training delivery within a relevant environment
  • 12 months’ experience working as an NHS 111 call handler
  • Accredited Pathways Trainer status
  • Strong IT skills including Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office packages
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively across a range of audiences
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Flexibility to work unsocial hours and travel between sites where required
  • A positive, professional, and supportive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement and embedding the DHU CARE values in practice
